We are looking for you supporting our international team in Munich as

Project Manager Application Engineering (m/w/d)

in the field of optical measurement technology

Your tasks:

  • Manage technical projects focused on developing and testing customized customer solutions, gathering feedback for new products and supporting marketing activities through application notes
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers’ products  (e.g., OLED displays, μLEDs, VCSELs/other laser sources), on-site measurement conditions and metrology requirements (environment, takt time, etc.), as well as our full Instrument Systems product portfolio
  • Propose tailored metrology solutions—including customizations where required—based on customer needs from our product portfolio
  • Support sales projects by performing measurements on customer samples, analyzing results and preparing customer-facing reports and presentations
  • Prototype hardware and software solutions using internal and external SDKs (Python, MATLAB, C++, or C#)
  • Lead initial troubleshooting efforts through failure analysis and data analysis (e.g., log files) in collaboration with the product development teams
  • Create high-quality application notes and white papers
  • Support product introductions as a technical peer for customers and relay feedback from in-house or on-site demonstrations back to development teams
  • Collaborate with sales, key-account management, product management, product development and international support teams (e.g., in Korea, China and Vietnam)

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or natural sciences, ideally with practical experience in programming (C/C++/C# or Python) and data analysis
  • Demonstrated track record in managing technical projects
  • Proven experience working directly with customers in an industrial environment (e.g., Application Engineering, Sales, Service Engineering or similar)
  • Professional background in photonics, radiometry or light measurement (e.g., spectroscopy, goniophotometry, calibration standards)
  • Knowledge of automation and/or the semiconductor industry is an advantage
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills
  • Capable of leading detailed technical discussions with international customers
  • Based in Munich with willingness to travel approximately 10%
  • Fluency in English
  • German skills are beneficial
